Family Hike

While Mammie was here, we decided to take her on our favorite family hike. Cameron was showing her how to get to the top:

Lexi slept all the way up to the top...

Ahhh... Nice Views, Cold Water, and Mammie.
What could be better?

Lexi woke up at the top to take in the view

A rushed picture before heading down...

(It started to POUR...)
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
(Can you tell how excited Cameron was to leave the top?)
Even Lexi was sticking out her tongue.

Makeover x 2

A couple of weeks ago we went to Maine for a mini vacation. It rained the ENTIRE time we were there, so we decided to remodel my parent's bathroom... Here are a few of the "after" shots:

(Ocean themed wall-paper border and a new light)
Plus, pretty light blue walls...

(New medicine cabinet and vanity)

(White wainscoting and trim)

I guess you could say that I caught the Makeover bug. Guess who my next victim was.....

Taaaah - Daaaah!

Doesn't she look amazing! It's almost hard to recognize her!
(In fact, Cameron didn't at first!)

I can't wait to see what Dad thinks!

A Summer Adventure

It was such a beautiful day that we decided to take a family hike. We woke up early and hit the trail before it got too hot outside. What a great idea! Everyone had an absolute blast!

Cameron, ready an excited to go on a hike... On your mark, get set, RUN...
(Parents, keep up if you can!)

Here's Dad, AKA Pack-Mule, trying to keep up.

Lexi's holding on for dear life...
(She's got Jon by the hair - ouch!)

Cameron climbed even the steepest parts by himself...

Look how proud he is to reach to top!

(The breeze did feel nice.)

Check out the fearless climber:
Phheeww, He made it!

There was enough wind at the summit to fly a kite...
This is a picture of Cameron doing his part to help by holding the tail.
(Needless to say, the kite spent a
LOT of time on the ground.)
Good. Times. :)

Cameron and Dad braved climbing the fire tower.
Mom stayed safely on the ground with Lexi.
VOLUNTARILY.

Even Lexi got a little exploring in on a pretty flat spot.

She's getting really mobile.

We went to the Lake afterwards to cool off...
In case you were wondering, Cameron did NOT want to share HIS boat with Lexi. She was perfectly content to splash with Mom or Dad anyway.

We stayed at the Lake until we were prunes! What a great Summer day! We'll definitely have to do that again soon!

Summer Fun

Lexi LOVES "swimming "
(Cameron does too, but he's not in any of the picture's because he wouldn't leave his swim trunks on...)
-An unfortunate side-effect of their father raising them

Good times.

Also... a couple of Pics from Aaron:

(They were scanned in, so they aren't the best quality.)

To work, or not to work...

So.... I got to work EARLY this morning only to find out that I didn't have any patients scheduled! Seriously. (And most of you know that I don't live 5 minutes from work.) Jon needed some quiet time to work on a big paper that's due soon, so I decided to embrace today as a "Mom Day." It actually worked out pretty well for all of us. The kiddos and I spent a relaxing, low-key day at home, out of Dad's hair... Well, what's left of it... :) And Jon got a good start on his paper.
Here are a few Pics of the kiddos and I chill'n:
We had a BLAST on the swings!

Lexi is such a Dare-Devil.
She was laughing so hard when her swing started
going sideways!
(On a side note, she's actually keeping her flip-flops on now!)

Cameron yelling "Faster... Faster"
(While dragging his feet through a ginormous mud puddle
and covering me in filth.)
Good times.

Yes, Cameron is standing in the very large, gunky puddle WITHOUT his boots on...
and let's just say that he wasn't always standing.
(Take a close look at his back-side.)
Just FYI - before you all go thinking that I no longer
qualify for a Mother-of-the-Year award,
he was wearing them before he left the house...
(So much for that idea.)

All warm and dried off inside....
Awww, feel the love!

It's days like this that I LOVE being a Mom!
