Sleeping Angels

As I turned into the driveway last night, the house looked surprisingly dark. Then as I opened the door and wasn't greeted by the traditional screaming I started to get concerned. However as I rounded the corner into the living room I was pleasantly surprised... This is what I found:

Originally, both kids were sleeping, but Lexi woke up while I was looking for the camera. Jon must have worked some serious magic to get them to both fall asleep on his lap at the same time.

Cameron passed out on the couch just minutes after swearing that he didn't need a nap... hmmm, maybe cat naps don't count.

I just love pictures of sleeping babies - they look so peaceful

Awww... I can't believe how big she's getting already!

Smiles All Around

As you are aware, Cameron has been feeling a little under the weather so being the mean mother that I am, I have not been letting him play outside in the sub-zero temperatures. His cold has been getting better these past couple of days and it actually got into the 20's outside today so I decided to give in to the whining and unleashed Cameron on the snow. And boy do we have a lot of it! We were actually snowed in today, so after Jon snow-blowed the driveway, he decided to build a snow fort with Cameron with all the fresh powder. This was no ordinary fort - it came with a cool tunnel for an entrance. Cameron loved climbing up through the tunnel Jon made and sliding down the exterior walls. It was great to see him smiling again! Although, I'm not sure who had more fun... Cameron or Jon. In typical Jon fashion, he was out there a lot longer than Cameron. I had to yell at him to get him to come inside and do his homework! :) (I swear, most days I think I have 3 kids!)

Lexi and Cameron are already having a lot of fun together. Lexi was waiting for her PJ's so we put her under the blankets to keep warm and Cameron decided to climb in next to her. He had just gotten out of the tub and was also waiting for his PJ's. Apparently, Mom and Dad's bed is a lot of fun... who knew?

Lexi has been smiling like its her job recently. We are so lucky to have such a happy baby. Here are a few pictures of her in action:

Cabin Fever

Cameron has been sick for the past week or so, so we have been limiting his time out in the cold. Let's just say that Cameron has been finding other ways to keep himself entertained. One of his favorites is hiding on his parents...

Here he is "hiding" in our Ski bag

There he is... and look, still in his PJ's! (Yes this game starts when Cameron first wakes up in the morning.) Maybe he just doesn't like Cheerios?

Obviously we need to replace a child safety lock...

Makes me wonder what he did with all the pot and pans?

Ah yes, another favorite pent-up-indoors past-time: Chase the dogs then tackle them! Actually, in this picture Cameron is hugging Zeus  and telling him he is a "dood boy."

The dogs are an excellent outlet for some of his never-ending energy, and let's face it... they could use a little exercise anyway!

Lexi's New Blanket

As you can see, Lexi just loves the beautiful baby blanket Aunt Sarah made for her. It took her many... many... MANY hours of very frustrated sewing, but in the end it came out AMAZING! Thanks for all your effort Sarah - It's absolutely perfect! Now when should I expect the matching throw pillows and curtains? ;)

Alexia's Big Day

Aunt Amanda and Uncle Jeff visiting from PA

Mammie and Grandpa visiting from Maine

The proud, slightly sleep-deprived parents :)

The beautiful Alexia Brielle

So happy...

I just love her smile!

We were lucky enough to have Amanda and Jeff as well as my parents here for Lexi's baby blessing. She cried through the whole thing, but as you can see, she looked beautiful! She really is such a sweet little angel. She's learning how to smile and she has started making the cutest little giggly noises. We are so lucky to have her in our family!

Happy New Year Everyone!
