The first weekend in December we went to get our Christmas tree. We all had a lot of fun! Here are a couple of pictures:

Nana and Pop-Pop came with Aunt Jessica for Christmas. Bumpa, Mammie, Aunt Johanna and Uncle Aaron were also there to join in the fun. Santa (and the Grandparents) SPOILED the kiddos rotten this year. We sure had a lot of fun watching them open their presents! Cameron kept saying that he must have been a good boy this year... then he decided that maybe Santa wasn't really watching... He is pretty funny sometimes. (Although it does make me wonder what he's up to when I'm at work...) :)Here are a few pics of the fun:

November just seemed to fly by for us. Aunt Sarah and Abby came to visit to attend a funeral and then to celebrate the wedding of Uncle Aaron and Aunt Johanna. Here are a few pics from the wedding:

In honor of Uncle Josiah's birthday we got quite a bit of snow late yesterday. (Just in time to make the drive home slippery.) Lexi and I got to sneak out and enjoy some one-on-one time in the fresh snow while Cameron was in preschool. The first snow of the season is always a little exciting, but it could wait a month or two before coming! There shouldn't be snow before Halloween!

Cameron turned 5!!! We had a birthday part with his preschool friends at the bowling alley. They had a lot of fun!

We have been pretty busy lately, so I have gotten a little behind on posting... Again. Here are a few pics of the trip to New Jersey to visit Nana and Pop-Pop. Summer Adventures

A few weeks ago we took a trip to Maine. While there the kids caught fireflies, picked strawberries, went swimming and played outside in the fresh Maine air. Cameron even slept in a tent with Uncle Aaron. Here are a few pictures from our trip:

Beautiful Father's Day

Beach Day!

The kids had a blast watching their cousin Lane play (and win!) his baseball game this morning. It turned out to be a little warmer than anticipated, so we spent the afternoon at the beach. (We had to bring a ball and bat to play a little ball ourselves.) FINALLY a day nice enough to warrant swimming! Here are a few pictures of the fun:

Our Weekend in Pictures

We went camping over a VERY chilly night and then spent an AMAZING day at Santa's village. We really couldn't have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect, there were almost no lines and all the rides were up and running (almost) perfectly. (We could have used a little more sleep, but you can't have everything!) :)

Memorial Day Weekend

We are a little late in posting this, but we had a great Memorial day weekend. Nana and Pop-pop came up for a visit from New Jersey and we packed as much fun into that weekend as we could. We went to the planetarium (hence the pictures in front of the rocket,) Friendly's, Build-A-Bear, Chuck E. Cheese's, and the movies. I was terrible about taking pictures, but here are a couple. The kiddos just love their creations. Each brings their new friend to bed with them every night.

We decided to indulge our creative side and have some fun getting ready for Easter. We started by dying and decorating some Easter eggs... Most survived with only minimal mess. Cameron actually did great with the dye! Here are a few pics:

Next we made and then decorated some Easter cookies... well, we tried to keep the frosting and sprinkles on the cookies... TRY being the operative word. The important part is that the kiddos had fun! Here are a few more pics:

Family Vacation

We took a short family vacation to PA/NJ to visit Nana and Pop-Pop, Aunt Amanda and Uncle Jeff and Uncle Josh and Aunt Shelby. One of the first thisngs we did while we were there was go skiing/tubing at Blue Mountain. Here are a couple of pictures of Cameron in his ski lesson:

High Fashion Snow Day

Like most New Englander's we have been POUNDED with snow these past few days - to the tune of almost 3 feet of the fluffy white stuff. Cameron has been in absolute HEAVEN. The kid would live outside if I let him. Here are a couple of pictures of him in his element:

Lexi isn't as big of a fan of the white stuff. Don't get me wrong, she loves to go out for SHORT periods, but it doesn't take long before she wants to come in and warm up. (Especially when the snow is up to her arm-pits.) As you will shortly surmise, Lexi insists on picking out her own outfits these days and well, I don't put up a fight on days we're staying home. We had lots of fun inside while Cameron and Mammie enjoyed some time in the snow. Today was a day of high fashion as is evidenced by the following pictures:

Cameron turned 4 last Saturday and requested a "How to Train Your Dragon" Themed birthday party. He specifically requested a bright blue dragon cake... hey, no judging. He liked it.

Weekend in Maine

We went up to Maine this past weekend for a quick 2-day visit to celebrate Mammie's birthday. It was a whirl-wind of apples, birthday cake and giggles. It was a quick trip, but totally worth it.

Labor Day weekend in Pictures

We had what was going to be an incredible family trip sailing off the coast of Rhode Island planned for Labor Day weekend... then Earl came along and ruined our plans. We didn't let him get the best of us though. We had a lot of quality time hanging out at home and visiting family. Here we are taking the dogs for a walk... Or maybe the dogs were taking the kids for a walk... either way:

We had what will mostly likely be our last hoorah at the beach. (Where did the summer go?)

We went hiking in northern Vermont with Grammie and Grandpa Blouin. It was a little windy, but a lot of fun. Cameron had a BLAST!

In the end it was okay that we didn't get to go sailing. We had a ton of fun anyway. Take that hurricane Earl!

A little over-due update

We went on a family vacation in August to visit Nana and Pop-Pop in New Jersey. We had such a great time and did way more things then we could possibly take pictures of, but here are a few to satisfy our fans. ;)

First, Nana and Pop-Pop had an AWESOME pool with a slide in their back yard. Cameron is still talking about it.

We got to spend some rare quality time at a nearby playground with Aunt Jess while she was there:

Cameron enjoyed some snuggle time... and some time with Pop-pop on the mower. Aww, I LOVE this shot of them together!

We spent a day at the Zoo:

That was just a taste, believe me. Cameron and Nana also braved riding a camel named Tazz. He loves to tell people that he rode a camel and a horse with his Nana!

We also spent a day at Dorney park with Cameron Marie:

Lexi finally crashed once Pop-pop won her a lovie by looking 44! (She still sleeps with it)

I know it must have seemed like picture over-load, but we did so many things and got to spend time with so many people that it wasn't possible to put it all up. Lexi and Cameron also got to hang out with their Aunts and Uncles and cousins in PA. And Josh, Shelby, Amanda and Jeff... be prepared to have your picture taken a gazillion times when we see you next as you seemed to get off the hook this trip. It was really nice to see everyone though! :)

Heat Wave: New Hampshire Style

It's official... New Hampshire is having a heat wave! We've been in the 90's all week and for the first time I was able to enjoy the sun with the kiddos at the beach. Here are a couple pics from today. (There really aren't too many because I spent most of our time there in the water with the kids.) :)

Oh, and I have a new favorite website... ETSY! I ordered a couple hats for Lexi for the fall. She was so excited she put them on in her PJ's before bed and insisted I take her picture:

Future Artists

No big surprise, but we ended up having a LOT more fun with Nana and Pop-Pop! Yesterday we went to a place where you can paint your own pottery and the kids each chose and painted a masterpiece. Here are a few fun pictures:

Fun with Family

We were lucky enough to have Aunt Sarah and Abigail come all the way from Missouri to visit us for a week! We had an AMAZING time and I may have taken a couple of pictures while they were here. I've posted a few of them for your viewing pleasure:

One of the things Aunt Sarah requested was a trip to the Joseph Smith memorial in Vermont. What she didn't realize was that Jon's Mom lived just around the corner and has a really fun zip line in her back yard. Abby LOVED it. Sarah... Well, she was a good sport. (I have a REALLY funny video I won't put on the blog, but email me if you're interested...) Oh, an I probably should say that in all fairness, I didn't go down the zip line this trip. (Hey... I have done it before... just not this time.)

We made sure to bring Abby and Sarah on a hike up our favorite mountain. Abby loved the hike and well, Sarah appreciated the view once we got to the top. She was such a great sport about doing everything we planned for her (even after the zip line.) The kids are lucky to have such an adventurous Aunt! Here are a few pics from our hike:

The highlight of the visit for the kids was probably our trip to Santa's Village. They had an absolute blast! Mammie joined us for our adventure and the kiddos made sure that ALL adults in attendance got an equal opportunity to ride the rides. (Even those of us who are scared of heights!) Santa's Village is really good about making it possible for an adult to accompany a child on just about every ride in the park... even the scary ones. Here are a few pictures. (Yes... this time I wasn't able to escape the camera.)

We also spent a couple days at the beach and had a blast!

(Unfortunately Aunt Sarah had most of the pictures on her camera.) Come to think of it, she has all the pictures from our trip to the park as well... hmmm. She'll have to post some of those when she gets home.

They've only been gone a day but we miss them already! Come back and visit us again soon guys!

On the Trail Again...

I finally remembered to bring the camera along on one of our family hikes. It's AMAZING how far Lexi has come from last year. We've tried keeping Lexi in the back-pack, but she wants nothing to do with it. (She lasted about 5 minutes on this hike.) She is such a big girl now! She has hiked up and down the Mountain all by herself 3 times already this year. Pretty Impressive for 18 months. Anyway, here are a few pictures of our excursion:

Our (short) Trip to Maine

We went to Maine last weekend for a very short trip to celebrate the life of my late grandmother, Madelyn Benner. She would have been 85 this June and while we know that she is in a better place now with my grandfather, we will all miss her.

Here are a few pictures from our trip. I'll be honest and confess that I didn't take nearly enough pictures. While we were at my grandmother's house, we stopped by the ocean. I did remember to pull out my camera and snap a few there. Don't be fooled by the sunshine and beautiful views, it was about 55-60 degrees outside and the water couldn't have been much above 40 degrees.

Cameron INSISTED on swimming. He gets his cold tolerence from his father.

(Yes - that's his tongue!) Can you tell Aunt Amanda was up in Maine at the same time?

Look at him jumping fearlessly into the icy water. Like I said - he gets that from Dad. Brrrr. We'll have to bring them back this summer when it's a little warmer. We'll make sure to pack swim-trunks next time. :)

Traumatizing Easter Pictures

As we've done every year, we took the kids to have their Easter pictures taken. Cameron was a champion. Smiling on que, posing and generally being a super-star. Here's how his pictures turned out:

Lexi on the other hand, was HORRID! Forget smiling, she wouldn't stop screaming! Here's the proof:

Terrible, I know. (In her defense, she was teething... 4 at the same time to be exact.)

So we took a few more at home... on a day when she wasn't getting 4 teeth in at the same time. They turned out much better:

The Easter Bunny stopped by our house this weekend and left a couple of things that wouldn't fit in their baskets. Cameron got a big boy bike with flames on the side and Lexi got a PINK lawn mower. The were both psyched! Here's Cameron on his bike:

With Grandpa around there was also an abundance of tickling! Grandpa is the BEST tickle monster! (He has had a little practice over the years.)

The Easter Bunny also brought a lot of bubbles and the amazing weather allowed for HOURS of bubble fun. Here are a couple shots of the good times:

The boys contemplated going for a canoe ride, but decided to wait until the ice was out first... Maybe next weekend! :)

Spring is Here!

This past week was all about quality time instead of quantity time. (I had to work A LOT!) And of course, it was absolutely beautiful ALL last week, so we spent every minute we could soaking up the sunshine. Here we are taking the kiddos for a bike ride. (Not sure how much longer we're going to be able to fit both of them in the bike trailer.)

We spent some time enjoying the bennifets of spring in NH... ie: playing in the mud. In case anyone notices, yes Lexi's pants match her boots, and yes, that was intentional. (Dad forget to roll them up before he sent her out to splash with Cameron and I - oh well.)

This is Lexi yelling "Wait!" as she SPRINTED down the driveway. (Cameron and I were out splashing already.)

Paying Respects to a Great Man

Last Week we learned that the kiddos last Great Grandfather, Cameron Sherman, had passed. We traveled late into the night to get to New Jersey to attend his funeral and spend some time with family. Here are a few more than a few pictures of our trip. (Warning: Serious Picture OVERLOAD to follow)

While we were there, we stayed at Nana and Pop-pop's house. They have a large jacuzzi tub, which the kiddos LOVED. Nana got them each a new swimsuit and let them swim in their "Pool." Cameron called it the beach. He begged for his bath every night in his "super suit." Here are a couple (more) pictures of the fun:

While we were there we took Cameron skiing for the first time. He had fun until he realized that it wasn't so easy to go uphill. He wanted to see where everyone was coming from and planned to climb to the top of the mountain by himself. He's going to be great next year. Season's pass here we come!

Lexi had fun exploring and acting as the Cheering Squad

Nana located some great indoor, rainy-day fun for the kiddos at a place called The Jump Zone. Cameron LOVED jumping and sliding on "Lightning McQueen" and Lexi had fun on the horses. Here's a few pictures of the fun:

Circumstances being what they were, we had a good time and look forward to visiting again soon. We will miss Butch, but he will always have a place in our hearts.

Lambs!

A nice family at our church has sheep and they are having lambs right now. We thought since the weather was nice... GORGEOUS for this time of year in NH...it would be fun to go see them. Cameron was REALLY into it. He was so excited to feed them and he loved petting the tiny lambs. Lexi on the other hand, was TERRIFIED. She warmed up towards the end, but she was pretty much glued to either Jon or myself the entire time we were there. The lambs were really cute though - it was hard not to take one home with us! Here are a few pics from our day:

(This little guy was only 3 days old and weighed in at only 4 lbs when he was born.)

Despite all the snow in the pictures, it was very warm outside (Jon was going to wear shorts)and we had a great time with the sheep. When we left, Ed was driving his tractor and Cameron waved at him and said "there goes my friend." Cameron is already asking to go back. He had a BLAST!

The Snow has Arrived

Our Snow drought is OVER! (And all 3 of my children have been loving every minute of the recent blizzards.) The traditional snow fort was finally built, we've had endless snow-ball fights, spent some time sledding and took LOTS of pictures. Here are a few of my favorites:

Feeling Better.... FINALLY!

As most of you may have heard, we've been SICK...

(Yes, ALL of us... at the SAME time.)

After everyone started feeling better, we took a short trip to re-stock supplies. We decided to let the kiddos pick out new sunglasses to cheer them up. (Yes, they picked them out themselves.) Cameron liked the red "spiderman" sunglasses and Lexi chose pink with silver polka-dots. It's amazing how long it took a 1-year old to make up her mind. She tried on quite a few pair! Here they are wearing them on the way to church:

We thought the worst was behind us and we scrubbed the house REALLY well... or so we thought. Aunt Amanda and uncle Jeff came up to play (hence the light sabers) and unfortunately, we shared our germs with Aunt Amanda. Here are a couple of shots of the good times:

We've been spending a lot of time inside, you know, trying to keep things "low key." Here's an example...

They celebrated their victory over an obviously defeated Dad by taking a ride together in the glider rocker:

Those of you who've been to our house know that it has a built-in race-track. The kiddos take full advantage of the set-up and race frequently. I had today off from work and grabbed the camera so everyone could feel like they were part of the action.

I still can't believe Lexi is RUNNING! For the longest time, she refused to let go of my hand and when she finally did she's racing her brother within days! What happened to my baby?
